I think, like equality in the boardroom, equality in the literary world is something we (our generation) will have to fight for.
Anyway, enjoyed reading about your dreams!Jeanninehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16419593830749483323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221959636094249465.post-61545127863512911472010-10-12T09:06:52.322-04:002010-10-12T09:06:52.322-04:00Well those were the "obvious" dreams -- ...Well those were the "obvious" dreams -- I think I dream of writing or creativity much more often, just in a less direct way. It's a rare night that a poet doesn't appear in one of my dreams.

Follow your own reading of your dream.RLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11664518356375046609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221959636094249465.post-44746298710451337732010-10-12T02:37:52.997-04:002010-10-12T02:37:52.997-04:00PS I used to be a Sunday School teacher, so the Je...PS I used to be a Sunday School teacher, so the Jesus walking on water parable is a pretty standard "teaching" piece about having faith, confidence, etc. That's how I interpreted it's use here.Supervillainesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03721829125190373978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221959636094249465.post-77770031263079824912010-10-12T02:36:41.729-04:002010-10-12T02:36:41.729-04:00I agree! I was interested to see that you dreamt so often of poetry matters! I think you should use that sentence in your essay -- and I think you should go beyond how women should emulate men, instead embracing another set of standards and metrics for "success." Now that's MY opinion, not necessarily what the dream said, but you might see where I come to that:

Jesus performed miracles, but always insisted that anyone could what he did (and more). He was about showing what was possible for each of us -- enlightenment. That gets forgotten/ignored in certain christian religions that twist it into 'he died for your sins" or that being a good christian means hating or judging, a punishment or shame aspect -- which really is the opposite of his teachings. His teachings were also to change the current perceptions of god, god not being about vengeance or cruelty, a psycho father-figure who asks you to kill your child to prove your devotion etc. but god being about love and compassion.RLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11664518356375046609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221959636094249465.post-45910091585257850022010-10-12T01:13:30.416-04:002010-10-12T01:13:30.416-04:00Conversely, did I see these sentences somewhere el...Conversely, did I see these sentences somewhere else and subconsciously re-see them?Supervillainesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03721829125190373978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221959636094249465.post-56465217197140689722010-10-12T01:12:53.875-04:002010-10-12T01:12:53.875-04:00Okay, last night I dreamed I was reading a book of...Okay, last night I dreamed I was reading a book of essays by women about women's writing. One of them was by Rebecca Loudon, and another was by Janet Holmes. I remember reading the sentences: "Even Peter couldn't walk on water until he saw Jesus do it first. Women writers need to see other women writers make more than $300 a year on their writing." What does this mean? Should I write an essay about women and ambition?Supervillainesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03721829125190373978noreply@blogger.com
